Find the variance and standard deviation. {10, 12, 14, 15, 18, 20, 23}
Standard deviation is the square root of the variance. Variance is given by SUM OF (x_i - mean)^2 where x_1 = 10, x_2 = 12, x_3 = 14, etc...
need help?
first find the mean=16
variance=126 standard deviation=4.242640687...
hope that helped amy :]
since you are going to use a calculator anyway, and this is a boring task, you might as well cheat http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=variance+%7B10%2C+12%2C+14%2C+15%2C+18%2C+20%2C+23%7D
