OpenStudy (dcolley):

Explain the differences in the boiling temperatures of the following compounds. HCl-85 degrees Celsius, HF 20 degrees Celsius, TiCl4 136 degrees degrees, CsCl 1290 degrees Celsius, and LiCl 1360 degrees Celsius

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't get your question. Is it explain the reason behind these boiling points of different substances or is it something else you are looking for?

OpenStudy (dcolley):

I thinks it means explain why the temperatures are different I'm not sure thats how the problem is worded

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well If they are asking why CsCl ,TiCl4 and LiCl have high boiling points, It is due to strong ionic bonding between the anion and cation HCl, HF have low boiling point due to covalent bond between the elements

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dcolley , any problem?? Hope you have understood it !

OpenStudy (dcolley):

no,thanks
