find the first derivative with respect to x of (sinx)^sinx

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Let \[y= (\sin x)^{\sin x}\] Take log both sides, what do you get?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@leonasmart !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ln(sinx)

OpenStudy (ash2326):

\[y= {(\sin x)}^{\sin x}\] \[\text{Taking log to base e or ln both sides}\] \[\ln y=\ln {(\sin x)}^{\sin x}\] \[\text{ We know}\] \[\ln a^b= b\ln a\] So \[\ln y= \sin x\times \ln \sin x\] Now use multiplication property of differentiation, to find \(\frac{dy}{dx}\)

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@leonasmart Do you understand this?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@leonasmart \[\text{Are you here?}\]
