I have no idea how to do this Uranium has an atomic weight of 238 amu. Weight of one mole of uranium = _____g/mol Weight of one mole of oxygen = 16.00 g The molar mass or molecular weight for U205 is ____g/mol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

weight of one mole of uranium = 238 grams; U205 molar mass = 556 grams if i am right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much! how did you find that out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the weight of a mole of a substance is the mass of one atom expressed in grams. okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like weight of an atom of oxygen = 16 amu so weight of one mole = 16 grams.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and for U205, you just need to sum up the molecular masses of each substance individually.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

You can find the molar mass on the periodic table

oh awesome! thanks :) I suck a chem lol
