An elements has a body -centred cubic structure with a cell edge of 288 pm .The density of the element is 7.2g/cm^3.how many atoms are present in 208 g of the element?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

MRq can u able to do dis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

208g*(1cm^3/7.2g)*(1 pm/ 10^-10 cm)^3*(X atom/(288pm)^3) = number of atoms you want

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not sure of how many atoms are in a body centered cube

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did the question specify how many atoms is in a unite of body centered cube?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nt given Mrq

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.science.uwaterloo.ca/~cchieh/cact/c123/bcc.html this may help you understand it better, my calculations should be good, just not sure about the number of atoms in a body-centered cube =P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you know the number of atoms per body-centered cube, just put it into the spot i put "x" then plug into calculator and solve =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simply u can use dis formula ..d=z.M/A^3.Na

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm... would you explain what each of the variable mean? @payalvsangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mrq????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, oh, now i look at it and realize you wrote the equation for density, haha, nevermind =P
