Find the minimum average cost if the total cost function is C(x) = 7 x^2 + 5 x + 12 .
you would find the vertex
to find the minimum cost
yeh that would be -5/14 but that incoreect
anyone else plz
One way to do this would be to get the derivative of the equation. Once you have it, search for critical points, if that's the correct term. You will then set derivative = 0 and Find at what point there is a sign change.
critical pt is -5/14
I see, I just realized that. Well now that you have that, you plug that in for your "x" in your original equation. and that should give you the lowest cost.
tnx
no problem
actually you have to find average cost and then take derivative of that and then find critical pt and substitute the vale in the Average cost formula not the original cost
but tnx for the idea btw
but tnx for the idea btw
Oh, the problem did state to find the average, I had missed that. Glad you caught it.
I am curious though, how would you find the average cost formula?
