the half life of a radioactive isotope is 4 days if 3.2 kg are present now then how much will be present in 4 days?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean half of 3.2 that is what half life means, the time it takes to get half of what you start with

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it says to use this formula: A(t)=Aob^t/k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it doesn't matter what the formula is, you are told the half life and asked how much will remain in exactly that time period. if the half life is 4 days then in 4 days you have half of what you start with

OpenStudy (anonymous):

half life tells you exactly that start with 3.2 in 4 days get 1.6 in 8 days get .8 in 12 days get .4 in 16 days get .2 in 20 days get .1 and so on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.6 kg
