can Rh -ve blood be transfused to Rh +ve?
Whatever their individual blood type, people with Rh-positive blood can accept both Rh-positive and Rh-negative blood People with Rh-negative blood (of whatever type) can only accept Rh-negative blood, not Rh-positive
but if donors blood group is different from the acceptr then the donor's blood can not be transfused say if donor is A or B he can not donate blood to O.
so that means that Rh-ve blood group can cause problems if it isn't transfused to rh-ve blood group...right?
yes.
no . the ABO part must be same..
ABO will follow its rule.
right....i was confused with this Rh system btw....
One of the most important antigen in Rh group is the D-antigen. D-antigen is coded by 'D' dominant allele. People with homozygous recessive 'd' allele won't have D-antigen coded out from their gene. If the individual with Rh -ve is exposed to D antigen of the Rh +ve blood, they will make anti-D antibodies. That's why Rh -ve people can't accept Rh +ve blood. I hope this helps.
o yes thanks.....it is making sense
