Arrange the following in order of increasing boiling point:- C2H5OH, CH2-CH2, CH2-CH-CH2 | | | | | OH OH OH OH OH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

more branching more boiling pont

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanx...But may I know the reason why it's possessing the highest boiling point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dunno the exact reason for that sorry but yea i have rough view dat more branching means it will take a lot time to get break down in simple for example u see in alkyne it is having higher boiling point as triple bonds take more time to get broken a compare to alkane or alkene

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so triple bond needs high temperature to get broken

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that's a good point but still thanx... if u don't mind, can i ask u few more questions right now?@heena

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Phenol has smaller dipole moment than methanol. Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok first draw the str do u knw?
