In the reaction 2H2(g) + O2(g) ® 2H2O(g), the volume ratio of H2 to H2O is what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's molar ratio is 1 to 1 (looking at the stoichiometry). 2 moles of H2 react to form to moles of H20. Did they give you any other information?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, 1:1 was a choice on the pretest, I figured that would be the obvious answer. Just making sure & Thanks!

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Hi Andrew! In the same temperature and pressure conditions, all gases have the same molar volume (in the ideal-gas approximation). So ratio of gases in moles or in volumes are the same.
