Determine the quantity of heat required to convert 1kg of ice at −20 degrees Celsius to water at 100 degrees Celsius? Specific heat capacities of water and ice water are 2302 J/kgK and 4186 J/kgK respectively

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

calculate heat required to convert ice at -20 degrees to ice at 0 degrees.. and then calculate heat required to convert ice at 0 degrees to water at 0 degrees (by using concepts of latent heat of fusion) .. Finally calculate heat required to convert water at 0 degrees to water at 100 degrees.. add all obtained results. that will be your answer..

OpenStudy (oladimeji):

lets check it out

OpenStudy (oladimeji):

can u solve it for me, it seems i am not getting it

OpenStudy (oladimeji):

are u there

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

is your answer equal to 647920 J

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Heh. Do you know what heat capacity means?
