how can u detect the which d-orbital is used in making bond ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for exmaple which d-orbital i used in making bond in HClO2

OpenStudy (jfraser):

Since the d-orbitals are all at the same relative energy level, it shouldn't matter which one is used to make the bond.

my teacher told me see here |dw:1337348551965:dw| here carbon is having only one unpaired electron p orbital vaccant for bonding so it will used this orbital with any unpaired electron vaccant orbital of oxygen so we know oxygen also have p orbital vaccant so one type of bond willl be p pie-p pie
