You typed it right though
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
\[\LARGE -(10a^3b \div 25a^8b)^2?\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
well first step rewrite as fraction...usually easier
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
\[\LARGE -(\frac{10a^3b}{25a^8b})^2\]

Yeah, thats how it appeared on the paper I just wasn't sure how to write it out on here, haha
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I still don't know how to solve it...can anyone help?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
well first you solve what's inside the parenthesis...forget the square first... \[\large \frac{10a^3b}{25a^8b} = \frac{10}{25} \times \frac{a^3}{a^8} \times \frac {b}{b}\]
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
do you know how to simplify that now?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The \[\left(\begin{matrix}b \\ b\end{matrix}\right)\] gets canceled out...

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
uhh yeah it becomes 1...what abt the rest
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then its 1/\[a{5}\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Sorry I dunno how to write fractions on here
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1 over a to the 5th
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and the 10/25 becomes 2/5?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
you got it! \[\Large \frac{10a^3b}{25a^8b} = \frac{2}{5a^5}\] now what do you think you do next?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Now square everything? So 2/10a^10..?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
And simplify to 1/5a^10?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
are you sure /:)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Not exactly...do you multiply or add the exponents
