well first you solve what's inside the parenthesis...forget the square first... \[\large \frac{10a^3b}{25a^8b} = \frac{10}{25} \times \frac{a^3}{a^8} \times \frac {b}{b}\]

The \[\left(\begin{matrix}b \\ b\end{matrix}\right)\] gets canceled out...
