it says normal rain
Normal rain isn't suppose to have any acidity (at least to a noticable degree).
From how i interpreted the question is what turns normal rain into acid rain, if that's not the question. Then disregard any answer i've given.

Carbonic acid is fairly weak, however.
SO2 with water forms sulphurous acid - which lends its acidity to the rain water - causing acid rain.
