calculate the hydroxide-ion concentration, {OH-} for an aqueous solution in which (h+) is 1X10^-10 mol/L. is this solution acidic, basic, or neutral?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kw = 1.0 x 10^-14/1.0 x 10^-10 = 1.0 x 10^-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

[H+][OH-]=1.0x10^-14 Now substitute 1.0x10^-10 for [H+] and solve for [OH-]

Oh and the you can use the equation ph= -log[H+] to find out if it is acidic,basic or neutral just substitute 1.0x10^-10 for H+ and solve... If the answer of greater than 7 it's basic if it is less than seven it is acidic and if it equals 7 it's neutral
