please tell me if im right or wrong?? For the following reaction, identify the element that was oxidized, the element that was reduced, and the oxidizing agent. Give an explanation for each answer. Zn + H2SO4 ZnSO4 + H2 My Answer: Zn is the oxidized because the oxidation state increases from 0 to +2 and gains oxygen H is reduced because the oxidation state decreases from +1 to 0 loses oxygen H2SO4 is the oxidizing agent because it is being reduced and the compound that gets reduced is the one that oxidizes the others.
