to add, stick a plus sign between them and combine like terms

same thing for subtraction, but don't forget parentheses and the distributive law \[2x-5-(1-x)=2x-5-1+x=3x-6\]

multiply means multiply, so write \[(2x-5)(1-x)\] and multiply out ( or just leave it in factored form)

and divide means divide so you get \[\frac{2x-5}{1-x}\]
