Use the slope formula. (-1 + 9)/(3 - 2) = 4 So, your slope (m) is 4
The formula for a slope is: y2-y1 ---- x2-x1 Using your given points, (2,-9) wil be (x1,y1) while (3,-1) would be (x2,y2) Plug it into the formula and remember, negative multipled by a negative is a positive.
4 the answer I got an 8
Lets try it: y2-y1 ---- x2-x1 -1 - (-9) ------- 3 - 2 which gives you -1 + 9 ------ 1 8/1, is your answer.
You're right... I plugged in a 1 instead of a 2. Sorry!
