An elevator car whose floor to ceiling distance is equal to 2.7m , starts from rest and ascends with a constant acceleration of 1.2m/s^2 .Two seconds Later a bolt drops from the cars ceiling the time taken by the bolt to hit the floor is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can Anyone Answer this Plzz The answer should be 0.7s

OpenStudy (experimentx):

find the distance travelled by the car in 2 s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is D=2.4m

OpenStudy (experimentx):

add 2.7 to it, and find the final velocity of car

OpenStudy (anonymous):

V=2.4m/s

OpenStudy (experimentx):

okay ... imagine bolt falling it will have initial velocity of 2.4 m/s up acceleration would be 9.8 down distance = 2.7+2.4 m ... calculate time if you have done your calculation correctly ... then you must get answer!! And Don't drag me in Health Science section
