Find the area
is the a=b*h also?
break it into parts. the middle is a square, so b*h. 8*4=32 for the middle part. the sides are 1/2b*h because they are triangles. they are both 1/2(2)(4), so each are 4. 32+4+4=40cm is your answer.
or do what he said, (8+12)/2 = 10. times the height, 10*4=40
not one of my options
my options are 10 44 48 and 20
im so positive its 40...
math looked good but its not a option :(
Area of a trapezium = \[1/2 h(b_1+b_2)/2 \]
So use SOHCAHTOA to find the base of the other triangle and then add that to 2cm and 8cm to get the total length of the lower base.
if i use the formula u just gave me i get 20
its 40. you dont divide by 2 twice. im 100% sure its 40.
oh well im off for the night... good luck with it, but im sure its 40 haha
1/2(4)(8+12)/2
You cannot assume that the base of the other triangle is 2cm
Hint: Use tan to get the base if the right triangle on the left. Tan45=1 and tan=opp/adjacent
base of*
oh and I made a typo. You should only have one (1/2) not two so it's \[1/2(b_2+b_1)h\]
Your answer should be 44, let me know if you still need help.
