well, the the whole equation is basically: \[bx^3 + (a+c)x^2 + dx + c\] right? that means 1/x completely divides this polynomial.

yeah, so divide this polynomial by '1/x'! and get the remainder in terms of a,b,c,d,e and equate that to zero. Now rearrange that, and you 'll get the statement to be proved!!
