Describe how you would graph this line y = -1/3(<-- Slope) x + 3 (<-- y-interceptusing the slope-intercept method. Be sure to write in complete sentences
since this is written in slope-intercept form i would mark my y-intercept at y=3. From there the slope of -1/3 means "down 1, right 3" and mark my next point there. Repeat this process forever to get many points or until you go off your graph paper...:)
@apoorvk
there are a lot methods to graph this line but the simplest one will be to take 2 simple points since your slope is negative. for example the point A(0,3) and B(-3,0). if u have 2 point you can simply draw ur graph
but i only have that one
hey @apoorvk u think u could help me out with this one i just need someone to explain it so i can understand it
@thechocoluver445 will help you out, I'm sorry mate am so woozy I can hardly focus :/
alright ttyl go get some sleep or somethin nd thanks for today @apoorvk
The easiest way to graph this is to start with the y-intercept. Since the y-intercept is 3 in this case, mark the graph at (0, 3). Now, the slope indicates how steep or narrow the line is. slope = rise over run. The slope here is -1/3. Since this slope is negative, that means it graudually goes down (I remember it as an airplane crash-landing, since that is generally a negative thing ;)). The 1/3 part means that the next point that is easy to graph on the line is up (down in this case since it's negative) and right 3.
I'll draw it out for you. @apoorvk lol

thank you very much
oh, do u get it?
yes thanks
lol, ok (:
