An atom of an element from Group VI of the Periodic Table has a higher tendency to lose electrons than that of an element from Group I. true or false?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the reason why, need help thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

False. It may be because of the ionization energies. When a group 1 element loses electron,it acquires noble gas configuration, that might be the reason.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

false - elements want to fill their electron shell. group 6 are closer to filling their shell, where as group one elements have a much easier time bonding to an element with a partially complete shell.
