lim(x->7) ((sqrt x-2)-3)/(x-7) I can't just plug in x=7 since the function is undefined at that point. I tried multiplying both numerator and denominator by (sqrt x-2)+3 to get rid of the square root in the numerator, but this creates a square root in the denominator and I don't know how to get rid of this. The answer I keep getting is .2799 and the correct answer is 1/6.

haha so I guess the back of the book is wrong... thanks!
no, not sure, let me try to work it out
no limit...
DNE
the limit isn't of this world
I don't know why this problem looks familiar ............
It's from http://www.amazon.com/Single-Variable-Calculus-Concepts-Contexts/dp/0534378625 that textbook, if maybe you used it in Calc class.
i was trying to work it out but could not get an answer then i clicked the link you posted on wolf... so i stopped... wolf is mor accurate...
stewart calculus.... he's one of the best...:)
dpalnc, I wish I could give medals to funniest answer since "the limit isn't of this world" was pretty good.
you can give the medal for dpalnc's response
that's ok... what am i gonna do with an electronic medal? i can't hang it on my wall.....
wolf does make mistakes
you're right.... remember last time with the factoring?
ok I will try to do this, I could make a big mess of it but here goes
