OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what is the electronic configuration of He? \(1s^1 1s^2?\) or just \(1s^2?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't it just one full shell of two electrons?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yeah..im just making sure...so Hydrogen is the only one that goes by 1s^1? since the later elements all start with 1s^2 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep... then you can use the formula 2(x)^2 where x is the shell number ... the answer you get is the number of electrons in that shell.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i see..thanks! ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no probs XD
