i found this on one of the sites...why is the current flowing from the negative pole of the battery to the positive one... isn't it the supposed to be the opposite???

It's common to think that current flows from the positive to the negative pole, but recall that current is the flow of electrons. Electrons have negative charge. Remember that magnets of the same charge repel each other, while magnets of opposite charge attract. The negative pole repels the electrons and the positive pole attracts them.

I would. That's the standard. Electrical engineers are weird like that. They define "conventional current" as always flowing from the positive to negative poles, when in a metal conductor the charge travels the other way. It's just a convenient convention to keep things consistent.
