B ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just add the like terms and get the answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, it is not B...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@waterineyes those are the only 2 that make sense to me ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you doing?? Just guessing or any logic in that?? Well, it is not C..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i added the variables together 12c5 + c5. then 7c +c and 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 : what am i doing wrong ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SmoothMath : can you please tell me why my answers are not correct and what im doing wrong please ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you are adding the exponents instead of the coefficients. x+x does not give you x^2. It gives you 2x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would 12c5 + c5 end up equaling13c5 then ? & 7c + c end up equaling 7c^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12c^5 + c^5 = 13c^5 Yes. 7c+c is not 7c^2, however.
