A circle has a diameter with endpoints of (-3, 8) and (7, 4). What is the center of the circle? (10, 12) (5, 12) (2, 6)

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Mid point of diameter is the centre of the circle

Parth (parthkohli):

The center of the circle would be the center of the diameter. Find the mean of the x-coordinates. Find the mean of the y-coordinates. Now, the new coordinates you get it the midpoint i.e the center of the circle.

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

You can use the formula for calculating mid point of a line having end points as (x1, y1), (x2,y2) The point is (x1 + x2)/2, (y1+y2)/2

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\color{Black}{\Rightarrow \Large( {-3 + 7 \over 2}, {8 + 4 \over 2}})\)

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Now substitute x1 = -3 x2 = 7 y1 = 8 y2 = 4
