An iron ore sample is analyzed for iron content by dissolving a 1.6800 g iron ore sample in acid to convert all forms of the iron present to Fe2+, then titrating with standard 0.0150M K2Cr2O7 solution according to 6Fe2+ + Cr2O7 2- + 14H+ → 6Fe3+ + 2Cr3+ + 7H2O The volume of Cr2O7 2- solution required in the titration was 35.60 mL. How much of the ore sample is iron oxide, calculated as Fe2O3, and expressed as a percentage.
