umm.. two questions :) can someone please explain to me how to write the area of a square as a function of its perimeter? and.. if there are many answers that can be correct to the above question then no need to show me how just need to know if that's possible ?

So what you want is a formula where you get the area of the square. But instead of plugging in the lengths of the sides like A=l^2 you are instead going to plug in the perimeter. So draw out a picture of a square and the formulas for area and perimeter. You can have a formula for area based on length and the perimeter based on length, so you can plug in one equation to the other.
Play around with it, try to discover what relationship there is between the perimeter and the area. It can be fun to discover it on your own by just playing around with squares, drawing lines. Try several definite squares, like one with a length of 3 since you know its area is 9 and its perimeter is 12. Compare that to one with a length of 4. It can be interesting and useful in later math classes to play around with it.
