group it this way first: \(\large (x^2-y^2)+(2x+2y) \) factor that difference of squares... factor the GCF from the second grouping.... then you can prolly factor once more...
\(\large (x^2-y^2)+(2x+2y) \) \(\large (x-y)(x+y)+2(x+y) \) \(\large (x-y)\color{red}{(x+y)}+2\color{red}{(x+y)} \)
Ok, when I got to your last step, should (x+y) be the answer sinced its factored?
no... the terms both have the same factor of (x+y)... that can be factored out....
