OpenStudy (anonymous):

A mixture of He, Ar, and Xe has a total pressure of 3.00 atm. The partial pressure of He is 0.400 atm, and the partial pressure of Ar is 0.200 . What is the partial pressure of Xe?

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

Using Dalton's law, P(total) = P1+P2+P3+... (P being pressure) we would get 3.00 atm=0.400atm +0.200atm+P(Xe). Solve for the pressure of Xenon, P(Xe). Pressure of Xenon, or P(Xe), would be 2.40 atm.
