@JustHere: I think you goofed up there. V=M/D @cmac234: The density of gasoline is 0.71–0.77 kg/L...so let's use 0.71 kg/L for gasoline density. The density of water is 1kg/L (at normal temperatures) You need to figure out how much mass is in 1.6L of gasoline so\[m=VD=(1.6L)(0.71kg/L)=1.136kg\]Since water is 1kg/L the volume of the same mass of water will be 1.136L.
