Simplify the quantity 1 over 36 minus 1 over x squared all over 1 over 6 plus 1 over x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

((1/36)-(1/x^2))/(1/6)+(1/x) is the x^2 correct? or is it (1/x)^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its correct the way it is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1/36 - 1/x²)/(1/6 + 1/x) Multiply the top and bottom by 36x² to get: (x² - 36)/(6x² + 36x) Then, by factoring and reducing... (x - 6)(x + 6)/(6x(x + 6)) [Note that the common factors at x + 6] So the solution is (x - 6)/6x.
