The amount of energy released when 1 * 10^8 atoms of chlorine are coverted to cl^- ions according to equation cl + e ->cl^- is 57.86 * 10^-10 j calculate electron gain enthalpy in terms of kj/mol and eV
@apoorvk @Callisto
we need to find no of moles
or just multiply
\(57.86 \times 10^{-10} J\) --> that's the enthalpy??
1 kj = 1000 j 1 eV = 96.49 kj/mol
If that's the enthalpy (which is what it should be acc. to the system, then that's per mole, and you will need to find out the energy corresponding to 10^8 atoms.
we have to multiply with 6.02*10^23
@apoorvk help
@apoorvk wat should i do???
if that energy listed is for a single atom, then you multiply by \(N_A\). Otherwise, use the unitary method.
the unitary method. means????
changing unit???
That's something you studied in your 1st grade :P "If 2 apples cost 6 bucks, then 3 apples cost?" .. remember? ;)
1 kj = 1000 j 1 eV = 96.49 kj/mol
1 bucks
ok thxxx
1 kj = 1000 j 1 eV = 96.49 kj/mol
PLzz look cos(x+y) prob...

1 buck???????? :O Seriously - how can 3 apples cost less than 2?? (though that was never the point, I just wanted to remind you) And yeah i'll have a look at that..
hey i just joked lol
it is 9 i knw
lol okay..
