how many neutrons are there in 9 molecules of P4 with mass number 31 and proton number 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if in one P, the mass # is 31 and there is 15 protons. So to calculate # of neutrons, mass # - protons= neutrons, which is 16.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand that part but do i do anything with the 9 molecules part? ot the 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and thanks for responding!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That kinda threw me off too, lemme see...and you're welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think u just do 16*4 which gives u amnt of neutrons then multiply it by 9
