why KMnO4 is used to detect the amount of h2o2 used?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

KmNO4 is used as an "indicator" because it turns a shade of pink during titration. I suggest reading the titration Wikipedia page: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/50219e4fe4b069e3b4282ec2 It has a wealth of information! Just let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Because KMnO4 has an intense mauve colour which is decolourised by H2O2. Hence when titrated the KMnO4 is added and is immediately decolourised UNTIL all the H2O2 is reacted. Hence it detects the amount.
