Read the following redox reaction and determine which reactant is reduced and which is oxidized. F2 + Zn --> ZnF2 Which is reduced & which is oxidized? Thanks!

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

You should not close your questions until you get a reasonable number of answers, because it is not visible anymore to most users of OS. In \(ZnF_2\) , you have a lattice of \(Zn^{2+}\) ions and \(F^-\) ions. So you can re-write you equation as: \(Zn\rightarrow Zn^{2+}+2e^-\) \(F_2+2e^-\rightarrow 2F^-\) Now you should see which is reduced and which is oxidized.

Oh I closed it because I figured it out. But thank you :)
