Okay so my friend is helping me on homework, and we both got two different answers for a problem. And I really wanna know if im not doing my math right or something... So heres the problem. 7^2-2[4+3(16/2(4))-1]. She got -149 and I got 31.
PEMDAS
I think I did PEMDAS. I could have done it wrong or something though.
7^2-2[4+3(16/2(4))-1] 7^2-2[4+3(8(4))-1] 7^2-2[4+3*32-1]
hope you can work out the rest.... .?
\[7^2-2[4+3({16\over2}(4))-1]\]
Remember the brackets.
it's probably called parentheses* in your country.
49-2(7*31) 49-2(217) 49-434 = - 385
-385 is not the answer.
She was right. I did the whole PEMDAS stuff wrong i guess. because 3x32 is 96 so its 4+96-1 which is 99 so then its 49-2(99) and then its 49-198... so yeah. I guess I can now trust her with math!(:
You got it. Sometimes it's just careless mistakes. I do it all the time. :/
Haha, yeah.. Same here! Obviously. (:
;) we'll get there. Practice makes perfect-ish i guess!
True!
7^2-2[4+3*32-1] 49 - 2( 4 + 96 - 1) 49 - 2( 99) 49 - 198 = - 149
