If a H2 atom is supplied 15.8 eV of energy , the kinetic energy of the escaped electron is?

@experimentX

OpenStudy (experimentx):

15.8 eV - 13.6 eV ... or something ... i forgot. just google the ground state energy of H2 atom.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13.6 eV is the energy of H2 at ground state

OpenStudy (experimentx):

well .. the KE is 2.2 eV ... just convert this in to Joules = 1/2 mv^2 ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1eV = 1.6 * 10^-19 j

OpenStudy (experimentx):

just do the usual stuff ... you have all info you need.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it thxx
