I think they use different prefixs in inorganic chemistry than organic, in inorganic it goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6, 7 ,8, 9, 10 mono, di, tri, tetra, penta, hexa, hepta, octa, nano, deca
as for the PO4, it is best just to memorize the polyatomic ions, if you desire a career in chemistry it can be very helpful
usually though it goes 3 for ite 4 for ate there is a chart I think but I dont know it has been 4 years since I have had to know this stuff, most of it is automatic for me now
