Write the expression in standard form. 6/(4-13i)
A: (-24/185) - (78/185)i B: (24/185) + (78/185)i C: (-24/185) + (78/185)i D: (24/185) - (78/185)i
This is very similar to 'rationalising the denominator', but instead you are rationalising the denominator. Are you familiar with what you have to do for this?
sorry, but instead you are making the denominator real :S
First try to make the denominator real,by multiplying the numerator and denominator by complex conjugate of 4+13i....do u know complex conjugate of 4+13i?
\[\huge 0.12972973 + 0.421621622 i \]
i see, thanks guys!
the answer i got was (24/185) - (78/185)i
since u multiplied by (4+13i),u should get + in the answer for imaginary part...values are correct....
i thought i had to multiply it by 4-13i
oops,my typo....sorry....u always multiply by complex conjugate....complex conjugate of 4-13i is 4+13i....ok now?
then u will get your answer as (24/185) + (78/185)i which is correct....
thank you very much!
