What are the products ? MgO+H2O --> KClO3 + O2 --> CuSO4 + Fe --> Ba(NO3)2 + K2CrO4 --> Zn + Pb(NO3)2 --> Cu + Pb(NO3)2 -->

OpenStudy (moongazer):

are these reactions correcT?

OpenStudy (moongazer):

I got it from our experiment.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

metal oxide + water always results to hydroxide. Since MgO is a metal oxide, MgO + H20 -> MG(OH)2 does that make sense?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

that's supposed to be Mg(OH)2

OpenStudy (moongazer):

how did you do that?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

which one?

OpenStudy (moongazer):

wait, I think I got it. you said: metal oxide + water always results to hydroxide so you placed (OH)2 after Mg is it always metal oxide + (OH)2? I mean you will "always" just stick (OH)2 after the metal oxide if the reaction is metal oxide + water?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

not always stick (OH)2 it has 2 because the charge of Mg is 2+. So by the "criss-cross" method you get (OH)2 make sense?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

you just stick OH after the metal oxide then apply the necessary subscripts

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

okay...i need to go for a while

OpenStudy (moongazer):

ok, thanks for the help :)

OpenStudy (moongazer):

could you do another one from my question? I'll just try to answer the others :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me send you some the element and you will choose the correct one cause i don't know chemistry

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[\text{Cu}\text{SO}_4 + \text{Fe} \rightarrow \text{Fe}\text{SO}_4+\text{Cu}\]

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

okay. im back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2Fe+3Cl2=2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2Fe+3Cl2=2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2Fe + 3Cl2 = 2FeCl3 2KO2 + 2H2O = 4KOH + 3O2 4KO2 + 2H2O = 4KOH + 3O2 2KO2 + 2H2O = 4KOH + 3O2 4KO2 + 2H2O = 4KOH + 3O2 2Mg + O2 = 4MgO 2Mg + O2 = 2MgO 2NaCl + H2SO4 = Na2SO4 + 2HCl 2NaCl + H2SO4 = Na2SO4 + 2HCl 2Al + 6NaOH = 2Na3AlO3 +3H2 2Al + 6NaOH = 2Na3AlO3 + 3H2 2KMnO4 + FeSO4 + H2SO4 = 2MnS04 + K2SO4 + Fe2(SO4)3 + H2O 2KMnO4 + 62FeSO4 + 40H2SO4 = 2MnS04 + K2SO4 + 31Fe2(SO4)3 + 40H2O

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

lol wow

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

what is all that @abayomi12?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

Cu + Pb(NO3)2 does not react. However *if* it does then it will just be a single displacement reaction Cu + Pb(NO3)2 --> Cu (NO3)2 + Pb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i told you i don't know much about chemistry just trying to put that maybe he can choose the correct one i have alot here i can send them if you want

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

as for Zn + Pb(NO3)2 <--this is just single displacement reaction

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

Ba(NO3)2 + K2CrO4 <--this is double displacement reaction

OpenStudy (moongazer):

@lgbasallote I think I already know how to get it. I'll try to answer all of it. please check my answers :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

sure

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

tag me when you have the list

OpenStudy (moongazer):

ok :)

OpenStudy (moongazer):

I think "KClO3 + O2" should be KClO3 + MnO2 because it is stated that "place a mixture of KClO3 and MnO2 in a test tube." then I heated it

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

probably...i dont know much about your chemistry experiment lol

OpenStudy (moongazer):

MgO+H2O --> Mg(OH)2 KClO3 + MnO2 --> CuSO4 + Fe --> Cu + FeSO4 Ba(NO3)2 + K2CrO4 --> BaCrO4 + K2(NO3)2 Zn + Pb(NO3)2 --> Zn(NO3)2 + Pb Cu + Pb(NO3)2 --> Cu(NO3)2 + Pb

OpenStudy (moongazer):

@lgbasallote

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yes. sounds right to me

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

btw...i forgot to mention...dont forget to balance your equations

OpenStudy (moongazer):

ok thanks :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

welcome
