How do I calculate the molar mass of an unknown acid with titration if I know the weight of the sample (in grams)?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

When you titrate an acid with a solution of base, you have to know the volume and concentration of the base used. The product of volume and concentration is ... \[L \space * \frac{mol}{L} = mol\] so knowing that will get the moles of base used in the neutralization. Assuming (and it's a big assumption) that the molar ratio of acid and base is 1:1, you know the moles of base that were in the solid sample you dissolved to make the analyte solution in the first place. Knowing the moles (from the titration) and the mass (that you measured beforehand) gets you the molar mass of the unknown.
