On a particular day, the following appliances are used for the times indicated; coffee maker, 40 min., and microwave oven, 12 min. The power requirements for both are 1650 W and 1250 W. If the electrical cost is 8 cents per kWh. How much does it cost to use the appliances?

For coffee maker, 1650 * 40 W/min 1650*40/(1000*60) KWH =>1.1kWh Now, 1kWh---->8cents 1.1kWh---->8*1.1 cents =8.8 cents
It costs 8.8 cents to use coffee maker. Now calculate for microwave oven
