could some one tell me if these are chemical change or physical changes burned match torn paper rusty nail ice melting vinegar & baking soda mixing crushed chalk cube of sugar in puddle of water leaves turning color tarnished silver cup of kool aide fried eggs child's growth

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

In a physical change, you have the same compounds before and after the transformation.

OpenStudy (ghazi):

in physical change you'll have dimensional changes which means change in shape and size..in chemical changes you will have chemical changes...or there will be chemical reaction ...some may be too slow like rusting of iron or some may be too fast

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

A physical change is something like ice melting (hint hint :)) where the same compounds "change" into the same compounds, but in a different state of matter (Solid, liquid, gas, and/or plasma) Chemical changes take compounds and change them into an entirely different material, like paper burning. The paper was originally cellulose fibers and starchy stuff (heh, I don't really know what's in paper) and the resulting material is ash, which is very different. Hope I could help!
