What is the domain and range in interval notation of problem #2 in the attached document?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (ghazi):

\[(-\infty,\infty) \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why?

OpenStudy (ghazi):

because your function is y=3x+7 and this is defined for whole real numbers

OpenStudy (ghazi):

@hiralpatel121 clear??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. So the the answer is the same for both the domain and the range?

hartnn (hartnn):

domain means all the values that t can take so that the function does not become complex,or become undefined if we observe in V(t) = -203t+9655 for any value of t ,V(t) will be defined. so domain=(-infinity,infinity)

OpenStudy (ghazi):

yes

hartnn (hartnn):

range mean all the values V(t) can take as its a linear function,it can take infinite values depending on infinite values of t hence range is same.

hartnn (hartnn):

still doubts regarding this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I've got it. I need help with doing parts of number 1 though. I tried to do it but then I got confused.

hartnn (hartnn):

find all x where f(x)=304 this??

OpenStudy (ghazi):

3x+7=304 3x=304-7 3x=297 x=99

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would be the answer for where f(x)=304?

OpenStudy (ghazi):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about parts (d) and (e) for number 1? How would I do those?

hartnn (hartnn):

for part e, same logic as #2 same domain, range.

OpenStudy (ghazi):

you have set of points like let's say two variables are x and y now you have (-6,-11) , (-2,1) and (0,7) plot this on graph paper

OpenStudy (ghazi):

your graph will tell you the domain and range

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you.

OpenStudy (ghazi):

:) YW
