* 5 men, 4 girls, not two girls stand together, and then how many ways line can be formed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this was a bit harder than i thought. lets try this: the girls have to occupy 6 places before in the middle or at the end of the 5 boys there are \(_6P_4=360\) ways for them to do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then we can arrange the 5 boys in \(5!=120\) different ways

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get a total of 480, but i would not bet any money on it. ok maybe $5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We"'ll add or multiply the permutations??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

usually one multiplies, but i believe in this case we are adding because these are disjoint independent events

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm now you got me thinking...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i am wrong i would go with multiplying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now i get 43200 just curious, do you know the answer to this?
