Log question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[10e ^{2x} = 90 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

need to solve algebraically for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The goal is to isolate the 2x: Begin by dividing both sides by 10: e^2x = 9 take ln of both sides: ln(e^2x) = ln 9; lne^2x isolates the 2x 2x = ln 9 divide both sides by 2 to isolate the x x = (ln 9)/x =1.0986 Check: e^(2*1.9860) = 9 9 * 10 = 90

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok... how do i simplify \[2\log_{10} {\sqrt{x}} + 3\log_{10} x ^{1/3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

into a simple log, because i got logx^2... i'm not sure if that's correct

OpenStudy (turingtest):

it is :)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

and you can put the 2 in front of the log as well\[\log(x^2)=2\log x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thank you :)
