Are Molar Mass and Molecular Mass the same thing? If they are different, then why are they used interchangeably?
molar mass is the mass of one mole of whatever substance/element you have. But molecular mass(or weight) is the mass of one molecule. They are used interchangeably because if you use either one for finding an answer (i.e. which substance if heavier ___ or ___?) than the molecular mass and molar mass of one of them will both be more than the other one. Hope this helps! :)
Oh, thank you :)
Its still confusing though :/
Basically molar mass weighs one mole of a substance, and molecular mass weighs one molecule of a substance. But if the molar mass of NaOH is greater than the molar mass of H2O, then the molecular mass of NaOH will also be greater then the molecular mass of H2O.
OH! I got it now, thank youu so much! :D
